Refvik Beach, locally known as Refviksanden, is a stunning coastal beach on the northern side of Vågsøy island. It’s part of the small village of Refvik, situated where the land meets the open Atlantic Ocean.
The beach extends about 1.5 km (almost a mile) and is known for its wide, chalk-white sand that often gets ranked among Norway’s most beautiful beaches. It faces directly toward the open sea, so the backdrop is dramatic, wide sea views, shifting weather, and sometimes strong wind and surf. The shoreline is gently sloping, making it suitable for swimming, beach activities, or just strolling. However, seawater stays quite cool even in summer.
