On this tour you will visit Jølet boathouse area, a hidden gem located in the beautiful small village of Kvalheim. The journey itself is part of the experience, as you travel in a comfortable mini-van in a small group, creating a more private and personal atmosphere along the scenic coastal drive.
When you arrive in Kvalheim, you will experience a fantastic view out into the open ocean and a magical light. Stories from back in the old days will be revealed, and you will enjoy a local snack. This place was built in the late 1940s to simplify launching and landing fishing boats. Still, this process can be quite challenging, especially during rough weather. Throughout the autumn and winter seasons, storms can be tough, and the boathouses have been crushed several times. On the other hand, when the weather is nice, the place is wonderful, and locals enjoy barbeques, good company, and the evening sun.
After a scenic car ride where local history and stories are shared, the trip continues to Kråkenes Lighthouse, a coastal lighthouse located on the northwestern part of the island Vågsøy. This is perhaps the most dramatic of all our lighthouses, as it is exposed to the full force of the North Sea. Built in 1906, the lighthouse has weathered countless storms and is renowned for its raw, untamed beauty. Visitors can experience the thrill of staying overnight, listening to the howling winds and watching waves crash against the rocks below. Whether in calm or stormy weather, Kråkenes is a place where you can truly feel the immense power of nature. The view from the lighthouse is spectacular.
We will end the tour with a Norwegian snack before returning to Måløy and the pier.
