Join a pleasant and scenic tour along the coast of Vågsøy, traveling in a quiet electric minibus*. This tour combines beautiful nature, local history, and a short walk with great views.

We drive along the west coast of Vågsøy and pass through the small fishing area of Torskangerpollen. This place was important for fishing many years ago, and you can still see signs of the old coastal life.

Our main stop is Kannesteinen, a very special rock shaped by the sea over thousands of years. You will have time to walk down to the shore, enjoy the fresh sea air, and take photos of this famous stone.

After visiting Kannesteinen, we continue to Hendanes Lighthouse. The lighthouse was built in 1914 and stands about 50 meters above the sea. To reach it, we walk about 1 kilometer on a narrow road along the mountainside. The walk is easy and gives beautiful views of the ocean and the waves below.

The tour is done by electric minibus with space for up to 15 guests only. This makes the experience calm, personal, and more private. It is a comfortable and environmentally friendly way to enjoy the coastline.

This tour is perfect if you want to relax, enjoy nature, and see some of the most beautiful places on Vågsøy.

*Regular buses will be in operation until July 15.

  • Måløy Tours is located right at the port — just steps from your ship. We are a local operator and we guarantee you will be back at least 1 hour before sailing. No stress, no rushing. You are in safe hands!
  • Guiding and Language: The tour includes guiding on the bus and will be provided in English.
  • Meeting Point: Please meet 15 minutes before departure at Måløy Tours’ sales point at the cruise pier.
  • Ticket Categories: We offer three ticket types: Adult, Child (ages 4-14), and Infant (under 4). Infants travel free of charge, but you must still reserve a space for them due to bus capacity limits.
  • Walking Distance: Please note that there is a walking distance of approximately 500 meters to and from the lighthouse, along a gravel path. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
  • In case of rain, the deck around Kannesteinen and the path to Hendanes Lighthouse may become slippery. Please be cautious, avoid jumping on the stones, and follow the designated path.
  • Cancellation: Please note that if the minimum number of participants is not reached, the organizer reserves the right to cancel the excursion Should this happen, you will receive a full refund
  • The tour provider reserves the right to adjust or reschedule departure times if circumstances require
  • Late departure? Do not worry. All our tours have been scheduled to bring you back to the pier right on time for your cruise boarding. Leave the schedule to us and enjoy the tour! 😊

What do I need to bring?

  • Weather-Appropriate Clothing and Footwear: Be sure to dress for the weather, as conditions can vary. Sturdy footwear is recommended for stepping off the bus and walking the path to Kannesteinen. The deck is wooden, and the path is made of grit, which can be uneven.
  • Camera: Don’t forget your camera! You’ll experience rugged nature and stunning scenic views that you’ll want to capture and keep as lasting memories.
  • Snacks and Drinks: While local snacks may sometimes be available at Kannesteinen, you may also want to bring your own refreshments, especially water on sunny days, to stay hydrated during the journey.

Duration 20 minutes. Board bus for a 20-minutes bus drive to Kannesteinen, a famous stone located along the coast.

Visit Kannesteinen

Duration 30 minutes. Spend approximately 30 minutes exploring Kannesteinen, marveling at its unique rock formation sculpted by the sea over centuries.
