The journey begins with a scenic drive along the west coast, passing through the historic fishing settlement of Torskangerpollen. This area once played an important role in winter cod fishing, and traces of the old coastal life can still be seen. A short stop is made here on the return journey.

The main highlight of the tour is Kannesteinen, one of Norway’s most distinctive natural landmarks. Shaped by powerful waves over thousands of years, this mushroom-shaped stone stands as a strong symbol of the sea’s force. You will have time to walk down to the shoreline, enjoy the fresh sea air, and take photos of this iconic formation.

Along the route, there is rich birdlife and coastal wildlife to observe. Many seabirds live in the area, and if you are lucky, sea eagles may be seen flying above or along the coastline.

An English audio guide is available onboard the minibus, sharing stories and information along the way. The driver is also happy to help and answer questions whenever needed.

The minibus carries a maximum of 15 passengers, creating a calm, private, and more personal experience.

  • Meeting Point: Please meet 15 minutes before departure at Måløy Tours’ sales point at the cruise pier.
  • Ticket Categories: We offer three ticket types: Adult, Child (ages 2-14), and Infant (under 2). Infants travel free of charge, but you must still reserve a space for them due to bus capacity limits.
  • Safety at Kannesteinen: In case of rain, the deck around Kannesteinen may become slippery. Please be cautious, avoid jumping on the stones, and follow the designated path.
  • Cancellation: Please note that if the minimum number of participants is not reached, the organizer reserves the right to cancel the excursion Should this happen, you will receive a full refund
  • The tour provider reserves the right to adjust or reschedule departure times if circumstances require

What do I need to bring?

  • Weather-Appropriate Clothing and Footwear: Be sure to dress for the weather, as conditions can vary. Sturdy footwear is recommended for stepping off the bus and walking the path to Kannesteinen. The deck is wooden, and the path is made of grit, which can be uneven.
  • Camera: Don’t forget your camera! You’ll experience rugged nature and stunning scenic views that you’ll want to capture and keep as lasting memories.
  • Snacks and Drinks: While local snacks may sometimes be available at Kannesteinen, you may also want to bring your own refreshments, especially water on sunny days, to stay hydrated during the journey.
